Throughout its entire lifecycle Synetrix has continuously sought collaborative relationships with public sector bodies to develop new solutions and areas of expertise, and to use existing technologies in different ways to help its customers improve the services they offer.
Since its formation in 1998, Synetrix has consistently adopted an industry leading position in driving and forming the development of new initiatives. Initially focusing on very high capacity, high availability networking solutions, including the early adoption of very high capacity Regional Networks for complex information gathering and collaborative research, this very quickly extended into the design, integration and deployment of advanced data and audio-visual applications, authentication, security and middleware solutions.
In 2004, Synetrix Ltd. joined forces with Equinox Converged Solutions to draw upon the experiences of both companies in delivering managed services to public sectors and complement geographies of presence. Together, these companies had been responsible for designing and implementing some of the largest and most complex multi-service networks in operation in the UK.
In 2006, the acquisition of i2Q (www.i2Q.co.uk), a leading provider of software solutions to Education, to add a further level of expertise to the organisation, providing a complete end-to-end capability from infrastructure and connectivity, through to desktop application delivery, to ensure that new technology is part of a holistic package that can successfully affect improvement and transformation in an organisation.
The range of successful pathfinder initiatives in which Synetrix has and continues to be involved is extensive. More recently, our comprehensive capabilities have led us to develop the largest integrated ISP, Active Directory and Learning Gateway environment in Europe for Leeds schools, and the first comprehensive schools ISP, email, learning applications, content and hosting service to pass the stringent new BECTA testing regime in all respects. As prime contractor to Telford and Wrekin Council, we deploy, operate and manage a borough wide broadband network and IPT service to all council schools and office locations and council workers homes. In August 2006, we launched the largest free to air public services Wi-Fi, Wi-Max network in the UK in Norwich in partnership with Norwich County Council.
Synetrix projects are based upon our own extensive in-house skills and, where necessary, on strong business partnerships with complementary organisations in telecommunications and other specialisations.
Within Synetrix we believe that our track record is the best illustration of our commitment to establishing strong partnerships with customers to achieve a common goal, improving the working and teaching of users within an organisation whilst providing the best return on short term and future investment.
Synetrix has approximately 150 staff in 3 main office locations in Farnborough (Hampshire), Keele (Staffordshire) and Priorslee (Telford). The company turned over 42M in revenue in 2007 and is backed by Apax Partners.
